A Jen Kingwell love affair from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OH -- I have to get back to responding to the comments!! Someone is also reading The End of Her. I finished it while walking the dogs, and well -- I don't want to say what happened, but I was a bit surprised. That's all I'm going to say! This is NOT the sort of book they talk about in a book club, but I want to discuss this with someone!

I've started another book -- Looking for Jane by Heather Marshal. Someone recommended it to me. OH my -- what a fantastic premise. Who dreams up this stuff? I ...

Who stole all the chocolate? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So I'm on a Zoom call, and DH is texting me that he can't find certain things at the grocery store. What??? I NEED Easter chocolate. He always asks me to text him what I need from the grocery store. Yep --- we both go to the store, I buy the things I like, and he buys the boring stuff. The last couple of times I went, I have been tempted by all the Easter chocolate. Not that I needed it, but I thought I'd like some Easter chocolate when he asked me what I wanted. Just because ...

Half a success! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm behind! There's no other way to put that gently - I have my schedules and my TO-DO lists, and I'm not slacking off - things just take longer than planned! I had a plan for getting some major writing done, and I did get some accomplished. BUT, as I write, I think of something else to add (I need to STOP that), which involves a picture or two more and more editing.

The bottom line is that I got one of five assignments done. And I've got pictures for the next two (well, most of them). It ...

Mini design boards are the best! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Yesterday, with all the Zoom calls and the prep for those calls, just about did me in!

By the time I was finished at 4 PM, I was wiped. I did NOT go for a second walk. It was late, the sidewalks were treacherous from the weather, it was cold. I wimped out and said, "NO -- I'm not budging." I even asked DH to order pizza (we were going to go out). It was just one of those days, and I'm OK with it. I did feel a twinge of guilt, not going for that second walk, and ...

Another good deed from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So Murphy and I were out for a walk. We had just started down the multi-purpose path near us, and we spotted a skunk by a tree. WHOA! Of course, Murphy went nuts, but then I noticed the skunk was NOT well. I stopped to take a picture which didn't turn out, and a couple of joggers passed me and mentioned that the skunk didn't look well. OK -- so it wasn't just me. How does a skunk not look well? When they are having a seizure -- that's how!

I stopped and called Animal Services. Good grief ...

Choosing fabrics that YOU like for your next quilt from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK -- I'm not sure who read the blog first thing in the morning yesterday, but Grammarly did NOT do me a service. During my editing, Grammarly stripped ALL the punctuation out of the blog. ZERO periods, no commas, nothing! It was a nightmare, and I had two anxious dogs waiting, so I couldn't fix it at that time. It's fixed now -- thankfully, my "editor" doesn't read the blog until later!

I admit that I', a bit obsessive. I don't think I'm too bad, but once I get fixated on something and am motivated, I ...

Time to sew! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Super day alert!!! I accomplished a lot yesterday! OK -- not everything I should be working on, but that's OK - all progress is good!

I tried printing something, and of course, my printer wouldn't work. So I'm going to attempt that again today! I swear, there are days when technology crashes on me, just to keep me humble!

I am determined to NOT let any of those year-long classes become a UFO so let's see what happened. One of the projects is done, which you'll see when I post the show and tell. But one down ...

Zoom, zoom, zoom from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It was a bit of an intense day. Lots of Zoom and more frustration with UPS.

I'm beyond frustrated with UPS. After another lengthy conversation and being on hold several times, the conclusion is that customs is sitting on the package. Of course, they are off for the weekend, so nothing will happen until Monday morning at the earliest. I've spoken to a supervisor who wasn't really any more helpful than the CSRs. I'm supposed to get a call from the brokers on Monday morning. Let's pray - a LOT.

Yep -- I could definitely have walked ...

All in a Row Show and Tell from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Another pretty productive day! I'll share all the stuff with you next week as I'm going through the show and tell before I forget about it!

I worked on the All in a Row quilt for THREE days when we were at the retreat. Yep, I was that far behind, and one of the rows was a LOT of work. I'm still not quite as caught up as I'd like to be, but I'm working on it! OK -- so I'm NOT working on it at the moment. I have a few other pressing things ...

Monday Motivation: Time to Dive In from Patchwork Sampler Blog

walt disney quote

Jen Kingwell’s Wanderer’s Wife (formerly Gypsy Wife) quilt has been on my bucket list for quite some time. I purchased the pattern years ago and considered starting several times but never followed through. In March, my friend Jacqi got a group of seven together for a sew-along. The idea was to sew blocks, report in via Zoom every month, then have a completed top by the end of June. It was time to dive in.

Wanderers Wife book

This project is a little overwhelming and more than a little confusing to piece. The internet is full “helpful” hints and charts. I ...

When you can't sleep....................... from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I had the best day ever! Well, that seems to be a theme around my house most days! But I hosted a mini-sewing day. Yep - most of us are totally cooped up in our homes with tiny social bubbles, and we have a group that we went to retreat with. So Claudette and Lynn came over to sew. Yes, Zoom keeps me sane and in touch with everyone, but it was so exciting to see and chat with actual people.

So you're not all panicking, here are my thoughts on this pandemic. We will ALL get COVID at some ...
